Consumer Reports found that Casper mattresses “are compliant with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for the top latex layer alone; the rest of the bed is labeled CertiPUR-US.” Oeko-Tex standard means it has set limits for the emission of harmful chemicals and bans the use of certain chemical flame retardants, colorants, and allergenic dyes. CertiPUR-US, a lower standard, means certain substances like PDBE are prohibited and testing is required for formaldehydes.
Accordingly, the Casper website claims their foams are made without ozone depleters, PBDE flame retardants, mercury, lead and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, and phthalates. They also say they “are Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality.” Non Toxic reboot says their use of polyurethane foam would not be recommended for a non-toxic lifestyle.
Casper's mattress has four layers and each of these layers has been insprected and certified by Certi-PUR
This means, that by Certi-PUR's standards, Casper has passed and qualified as environmentally-friendly.
The mattress' foams have been manufactured without the use of ozone depleters, mercury, lead, heavy metals or PBDE flame retardants- all of which are dangerous and to the environment and to humans.
Casper's materials are very eco-friendly.

Casper is a new company and has established itself as one of the eco-friendlier mattress brands in the market. Casper Mattresses are compliant with Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for the top latex layer of its mattress. The Oeko-Tex standard limits the emission of Volatile Organic Compounds(VOC’s) in the mattress such as formaldehyde. The remaining parts of the mattress are labeled as CertiPUR-US – Meaning it is free of chemicals such as polybrominated diphenyl ether. Also, instead of the harmful chemical flame retardants, the mattress has a mechanical fire sock composed of silica threads. So if you’re in the market for an eco-friendly mattress, Casper would be the way to go
